DISA Team Wins 2016 Department of Defense Chief Information Officer Award

St. Louis, Mo., February 23, 2017 – Chameleon Integrated Services, as part of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Service Support Environment/Global Service Desk (SSE/GSD) Team, received the 2016 Department of Defense Chief Information Officer Award for Cyber and IT Excellence in the team category. The award cited the SSE/GSD team for establishing an organizational and technical structure that enabled virtual consolidation of service desk agents from 22 geographic locations to five and yielding approximately $75 million in cost avoidance by changing the way service desk and desktop support is provided.  The award also praised the SSE/GSD team for achieving a 200% increase in Tier II Desktop Support resolution coupled with a customer satisfaction rating of 4.8 out of 5 stars.

“This award is a reflection of our team’s ability to meet today’s Department of Defense mission – reducing overall program costs through continual service improvement – so that more Department of Defense funds can be made available to support the warfighter,” said Drew Acree, President and Co-owner of Chameleon.

Chameleon Integrated Services (Chameleon) was awarded a $22 million contract in 2015 to provide SSE/GSD support and management services to DISA. Under this contract, St. Louis-based Chameleon has planned, established, tested, integrated, operated, maintained and optimized comprehensive IT support environments at new GSD facilities in Montgomery, Alabama, Ogden, Utah, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois and Ft. Meade, Maryland. The Montgomery location provides UNIX and Microsoft Windows support services to approximately 1.75 million DISA users. The Ogden location provides customer contact, status reporting, information distribution and other services to DISA user communities worldwide.

Chameleon’s DISA Global Service Desk contract is part of its DISA IT Enterprise Support Services (DESS) contract, which was awarded to Chameleon and three other firms in 2013 to compete for more than $400 million of military IT services and equipment for 8,200 DISA employees in the U.S. and at international locations over a five-year period.
